These New Paintings are amazing! I dont know How you come up with these great charters but you do and I love em! Keep up the great work. I think these guys would also look great as sculptures. Do you get more enjoyment from painting than sculpting?

im having a terribly difficult time deciding whether my favorite of this batch is "Joy" or "dead man smoking", but they're both fantastic. dead man smoking reminds me of a sort of charles bukowski / tom waits / jack keruac, kinda character thats been ran through the chet zar filter. and then joy just makes me smile.
anyways, its great to hear that things are going great!

thanks you guys. i have a bunch more coming.
in regards to sculpting vs. painting......it's tough. i would love to have the time and money to be able to sculpt these characters, but it takes so much longer and is so much more expensive. while painting has it's own set of difficulties (lighting, shadows, color, etc.), sculpting requires that you deal with a lot more surface (backs of ears, backs of neck and head, etc.). then there is the issue of molding and casting. i can spend maybe a week or two and $50.00 in materials for a painting vs. a month or two or three and hundreds of dollars in materials for a single sculpture.
so i would say that at this point, i am happy with painting. it's more practical and i think even more fun for me.
thanks again for the encouragement
